PASTOR GREGORY TYLER was born on August 28, 1949 in Tacoma, Washington. He entered into the Kingdom of God through the holy waters of Baptism when he was fifteen years old. Pastor Tyler attended Minnetonka High School, Minnesota and graduated in 1967. After thirteen years of holding various positions in the work?place, Pastor Tyler began attending Concordia College, St. Paul, Minnesota in preparation for the Pastoral Ministry. He graduated from Concordia College with a B.A., minoring in Biblical Languages and Sociology, in 1983. Pastor Tyler attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana from 1983 through 1987, serving his vicarage year at The Lutheran Church of the Triune God in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.

Upon graduation from the seminary, Pastor Tyler received a Call to the Pastoral Ministry at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Walker, Minnesota. He was installed there in August of 1987.

Pastor Tyler received a call from St. Paul's Lutheran and was installed as its Pastor on April 2, 1989.

Pastor has been married to Colleen (Hanson) of Appleton, Minnesota for 31years. They have two children: Sara Marie and Paul Andrew.

 

Duane Esterly has been Cantor and Parish Music Director of St. Paul's Lutheran since 1999 where he serves as principal organist, Chancel Choir director, and director of the Bell Choir. A graduate of Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Mr. Esterly has earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Applied Music and Music Education. He has served as Worship Coordinator for the 1991 Conference of the International Lutheran Single Adults, a recognized synod organization of the Lutheran Church?Missouri Synod. During his 28-year career in church music, Mr. Esterly has directed and organized hymn festivals, cantatas and choral events for organizations such as the North Minneapolis Lutheran Coalition. In 1998, he was Principal Conductor for the performance of Dubois' The Seven Last Words of Christ led by the churches of the Hennepin North Circuit of the LCMS.

Also an accomplished vocal soloist, Mr. Esterly sang in the Augsburg Choir under the direction of Dr. Leland B. Sateren and currently sings with the Masterworks Chorale based out of Augsburg College. During the summer of 2000 he toured Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic where the group took part in the American Choral Festival in Leipzig, Germany. He currently holds memberships in the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians as well as the American Guild of Organists. Mr. Esterly presently lives in Plymouth, Minnesota.
